Monday morning I found my way up to Stratford on the new high speed rail link from Ashford. I did check to see if “my” train was heading up that way at a convenient time but it wasn’t.
30 minutes after joining the train I was in Stratford, London. Short bus ride over to the domestic rail station and picked up my chaperon, Stuart who was going to show me around.

It’s very impressive at first sight, and even though I’ve experienced two Olympics so far, it still blew me away at the enormity of it. The Olympic sporting venues are big, but then you add in the Village and the media center and all of a sudden the whole complex is just crazy.

Enormous Media Centre

Olympic Village (just part of it!)
I was told that the Velodrome was started a year ago, that means just a bare site, and now it looks almost finished, well in a basic, most of the main supporting structures way. The project manager told me they are hoping to get it finished before Christmas next this year, which to think how much needs to be done is truly amazing.

I asked him if he was the first to be allowed on the track, and he suggested to me that he’s hoping it’s him, but I think it might be a toss up between him and Chris Hoy!
I met up with BBC London to do some quick interviews, but they seemed to take for ages, and I froze my £$%^ off!
After the BBC it was the LOCOG’s turn and I got to freeze my @€›# off even more doing more interview.
I got to see most of the Velodrome, but I had to leave as I had another event to go to in London. Thanks to ITV for the Chauffeur driven Mercedes.
